Essay

The methodology of using of multispectral satellite data for the solution of hydrogeological problems connected with construction of hydrogeological models for evaluation of elements of water balance and underground water resources in upper zone of intensive water exchange has been developed. The steps of hydrogeological models construction have been considered. For every step the using of multispectral satellite data has been motivated to increase efficiency and reliability of hydrogeologycal investigations. Thesis includes original methodical approaches for evaluation of elements of water balance using analysis of vegetation cover and soils on the base of classification of land cover on multispectral satellite data. The new water index, calculated on the base of multispectral data, for land cover moisture evaluation has been offered for the solution hydrogeological, ecological and agro technical problems. The approach for complex using of multispectral satellite data with hydrogeological modelling for identification of hydrogeological models parameters has been developed. The theoretical and methodical developments have been realized within the limits of the typical landscapes and climatic zones of Ukraine.Key words: multispectral satellite data, water indexes, water cycle, hydrogeological modelling, hydrogeological parameters identification.
