Essay

An object: vitamin E- depended regulation of programmed cell death. Aim: to determine the functional role of alpha-tocopherol (TPh) in the processes of regulation of apoptosis and to explore mechanisms, causing a cytotoxic action of its synthetic derivatives. Methods: the cells cultivation, biochemical, molecular-biological. The functional role of TPh as an inhibitor of the primary dependent on mitochondria programmed cell death were determined. The mechanisms of TPh cytoprotective action are preventing by them the mitochondria dysfunction and activation of the DT- diaphorase - enzyme detoxification of xenobiotics. Modified on the structure of the side chain and chromane ring derivatives of TPh are cytotoxic, hemolytic and the prooxidative effects, which are not characteristic for the native TPh and implemented with the involvement of the various, depending on the type of modifications mechanisms. These derivative should be considered as an independent biologically active compounds with excellent from the TPh properties. Sphere of use: organization of medical-biological profile.
