Rylsky A. The scientific substantiation of proсaryotic bioindication of the environmental pollution by heavy metals.

The results of investigation of regularity of heavy metal ions influence on pigment synthesis in bacteria are presented in the dissertation. The view of the mechanisms of pigment synthesis blocking in bacteria is expanded.It was shown that pigment-synthesizing bacteria can be used as biological indicators of natural environmental pollution.The “synthetic” row of metals toxicity which takes into account the effects of pigment synthesis inhibition in bacteria at certain concentration of heavy metal ions is formed. The new approach of pigment luminance estimation in microorganisms by means of computer program Adobe Photoshop is worked out.It was shown that pigment-synthesizing bacteria can be immobilized at artificial and native carriers and be used simultaneously both as biological indicators and purifiers of water from heavy metal ions.
