Essay

In this thesis the method of cluster expansions for the Green's function of a disordered system is applied to a variety of low-dimensional systems with point defects. Special attention is given to the theoretical analysis of the rearrangement of the electron spectrum in graphene. Mainly, impurities were described within the Lifshitz model. In particular, it has been shown that with increasing the impurity concentration a wide transport gap is opening in the electron spectrum of graphene around the energy of the single-impurity resonance, which explines experimentally observed metal-insulator transition.
