Aushev V. Heavy meson production in high energy electron-proton and proton-nuclei collisions at the Hadron Electron Ring Accelerator HERA

In this thesis it is reported on research performed at the HERA-B and ZEUS experiments at DESY, Hamburg. Through the ZEUS experiment, we can precisely investigate the inner structure of proton and fundamental forces of nature. Differential inclusive jet, D-mesons and other mesons cross sections in deep inelastic ep scattering have been measured with the ZEUS detector. Reasonable agreement with QCD predictions is observed. HERA-B measured for the first time the A-dependence of open charm and some other particles production. A first measurements of pseudo-rapidity, transverse momentum and Feynman x variable have been presented. The experiment made a significant contribution to the understanding of nuclear effects in charmonium and other particles formation.
