Essay

The thesis is dedicated to the determination of the role of immune-inflammatory process, dyslipidaemia and other traditional cardiovascular risk factors at the atherosclerosis progression and cardiovascular and cerebrovascular accidents and diseases development in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) patients. At the dissertation the peculiarities of the atherosclerosis progression and cardiovascular/cerebrovaascular events and diseases development in RA and SLE patients are determined on the basis of the data gained from 2-years monitoring of the cardiovascular system, atherosclerosis progression, lipids profile, immune and cytokines factors in both patients groups; new method for prognosis of cardiovascular events development has been proposed, based on quantitive assessment of the defined the most influential risk factors; the efficacy and safety of the atorvastatin use for the prophylactic of atherosclerosis progression and cardiovascular/cerebrovascular events and diseases development has been proved.
