Essay

To study deep geological structure of the crust and upper mantle of the eastern part of the Ukrainian shield - Middle Dnieper and Near Azov megablocks as well as Kryvoy Rog and Kremenchug suture zones - new methodological approach on creating coherent physical-geological models of the Earth's crust based on the integrated interpretation of different geological and geophysical information in geoinformational environment have been developed. Database created from current geological and geophysical data available made the basis for qualitative and quantitative constructions. Investigation results show that upper crust is composed with sedimentary-volcanic formations altered by metamorphic and metasomatic processes and intruded by bodies of granites, diorites, gabbros and peridotites and some other rocks. Granulites, diaphtorated granulites, diorites. quartz-diorite, gabbro-eclogites, gabbro-syenites and some other rocks are distributed in middle and lower crust. Upper mantle is characterized by predominant distribution of areas with rocks of "eclogite", "peridotite", "pyroxenite" and "amphibolite-websterite" composition. The elements with sublatitudinal and gentle sloping diagonal strike are predominant in the upper mantle structural-tectonic constructions. Lower crust shows the presense of submeridianal strike elements. Upper and middle crust are characterised by elements with north-western extent. According to the results of mineragenic estimations mantle, crustal, (assimilation) and infiltrational types of ore matter sources are distinguished. Their metallogenic specialization are predominantly associated with areas of prognostic development of certain petrotypes of rocks distributed at the upper mantle and bottom parts of the crust. Substrate composition of the Earth's upper crust affects the character (structure) of mineralisation
