Essay

The theoretical fundamentals of an instrumental system for measurement of geometrical parameters of natural stone goods based on their videoimages are developed in a thesis. This system has the high precision, speed of response and ex-tended functionalities. The main principle of instrumental system construction consists in the use of modern computerized methods of goods visualization and videoimages processing. The parameters optimization is executed to increase the precision and speed of response of an instrumental system. It was proposed to use artificial neural networks for algorithmic videoimages processing. It provides reduce an additional error in non-stationary and unfavourable conditions of measurements. The instrumental system is used for high-precision measurement of mechanical values in applied problems.
