Essay

The object of study - pyrologycal processes in pure and mixed stands of Small Polissya. The objectives of study - to establish regularities of ecological conditions influence and forestry features of phytocenosis on fire safety of forests in Small Polissya, to describe mechanisms of fire danger state formation of forest environment, occurrence and fires spread, its effect on forest plantations, to improve fire protection of forests. The methods of investigation: forest, soil, forest inventory, environmental, microclimatic, biometrical, electrophysiological, geospatial, experimental, statistical, mathematic modeling. Scientific novelty: For the first time it was established fire danger dependence on edatopes and pine viability dependence on fire injurious level in Small Polissya forests, mechanisms of effects of lateral and radial flows of energy and substance on forest fire danger were established; mathematical model of radiation heat flux from flames was designed. It was used for studies of forest fuels ignition processes; dependences which characterize fire danger of stands: content of water, turpentine and resin in above-ground part of pure and mixed stands depending on age and pine share were obtained; forest fire danger index, which simultaneously consideres natural forest fire danger and fire weather danger was proposed; forest fire danger growth dependence on extremely air humidity decrease and air temperature increase were discovered as well as the method of fire hazard level determining on the base of forest fuels drying processes modeling was suggested; Small Polissya territory cutting on zones of influence of fire brigades, determining new fire brigade location places and solving other practical problems of fire protection of forests were proposed. Practical significance: Results of research were included in the "Guidelines for reducing the impact of forest fires danger in the arsenals, bases and ammunition depot, located in forests" approved by the order of Ministry of Emergency Situation of Ukraine № 890 from 25.08.2011, implemented in Lviv and Khmelnytskyi regional forest and hunting departments production activity and in educational process in Lviv State University of Vital Activity Safety. The field of application: Forestry.
