Essay

The object of study - the process of distribution, transmission and scattering of light in the passive optical communication devices. The aim of the thesis is the development of theory, analysis and creating new efficient passive optical communication devices. Methods of research - a method of statistical calculation, combined with the principles of quantum electrodynamics, the experimental methods of studying the scattering and attenuation of light, the methods of geometrical optics. Theoretical and practical results and novelty: proposed and justified method of investigation of passive optical communication devices, which uses the principles of quantum electrodynamics and mathematical statistics, and allows the simulation of both the transmission and dynamic and noise characteristics; proposed and tested a new design of the optical attenuator that uses optical waveguide bends, allowing for zero initial losses; a new approach to the use of multilayer structures for solving spectral selection of optical channel is proposed and found that by choosing the angle of incidence may significantly increase the angular dispersion of the multilayer structure; proposed new approach to the construction of passive device prior demultiplexing of transmission system with wavelength division multiplexing; proposed and justified a passive optical device for masking linear optical code combinations, which provides the ability to protect the entire flow of information from unauthorized access. The degree of implementation: results of the thesis have been used in the production of fiber-optic cables at the "Odeskabel", in the development and manufacture of optical fiber cables in the factory "Yuzhkabel", with production of optical devices JSC "Institute of Information Technology", Minsk, in the research projects of research Institute "Orion", in works of NTC "Energosvyaz", in the educational process of Institute of Telecommunications and Information SUICT.
