Essay

The physical background for synthesis of titanium alloys possessing high balance of physical and mechanical properties from blended elemental powders were developed. Titanium alloys and components with desirable characteristics were produced by use of hydrogenated titanium powder as starting material. The physical causes and mechanisms of temporary alloying with hydrogen on diffusion activation and titanium refinement were established. The alloying element influence on homogenization and consolidation of powders was determined to produce various titanium alloys and components.
