Essay

The object of research: the electric power systems for technology devices with the both DC and AC arcs and a negative differential resistance. The purpose of research: development of the scientific and technical basis for the construction, design and optimization of electric power systems for technological devices with the both AC and DC systems with a negative differential resistance which is based on the arc dynamic mathematical model and the AC arc cylindrical column mathematical equation in a way of identifying sustained arc factors in these devices and requirements for the power systems. Methods of research: for the problems solving in the thesis the operator calculation method for transients, the automatic control theory methods, spectral-operator method and the differential equations method have been used. Theoretical results and innovations: for the first time the burning electric arc sustainability criteria with a negative differential resistance was defined for the "power supply - bridge rectifier - inductance - an electrical arc" system types. The results agree with Kaufman criteria. It was proved that the stable combustion condition for of a high-frequency fixed in length AC arc, stabilized by the canal walls, is defined by the inequality ?L> R (I). Practical results: The calculation method for the stabilized current power systems with AC or DC input and frequency transformation and a negative differential resistance load was created. With the proposed methods the plasma ignition systems experimental models and the electronic ballast device for high pressure sodium lamp were created and tested. A subject and degree of introduction: the electrical power system for both AC and DC technological devices with a negative differential resistance were tested, moreover the electronic ballasts are used by «Cisnetcom» company (Italy) in a mass production way. Effectiveness of implantation: DC mikroplazmotron and electronic ballasts overall energy efficiency was increased. Sphere of use: electric arc technology
