Essay

Object of investigation - tapped and untapped forest stands of the climatic ecotypes and their geographical cultures, seed and clonal progeny of the plus pine trees. The objective - to establish value of individual resin productivity of pine climatypes, to motivate the forest breeding systems of creation and formation the increased biological resin productivity plantations and work out the theoretical basis for introduction and application of the new environmentally sound methods and techniques of resin harvesting in Ukraine. Methods of investigation. Forestry-biometric methods (laying plots and biometric structure of forest plantings study); genetics and breeding methods (high resin productivity trees selection and the peculiarities of this characteristic inheritance study); spectrophotometric methods (the photosynthetic pigments biosynthesis study); light microscopy methods (detection of morphological and anatomical characteristics of wood and needles); gas-liquid chromatography methods (the terpene hydrocarbons biosynthesis study); mathematics and statistics methods (processing of experimental data and modeling statistical dependencies). Scientific novelty - for the first time in Ukraine it has been determined that the highest resin productivity in Ukraine is typical for the pine trees of Cherkassy, Malopolissya and Kyivpolissia climatypes, which grow in Southern Polyssya and Forest-Steppe. The increased biological resin productivity of Cherkassy and Kyiv ecotypes is presented in the geographical cultures. Resistant morpho-physiological parameters of needles for selecting highly resin productive forms of pine trees are found. It is also identified plus trees and their progeny as valuable gene bank for creating targeted cultures in order to obtain wood and resin as well. Data on individual variability, diurnal and seasonal dynamics of pine trees resin productivity, distribution of trees in the forest plantations according to their resin productivity, mathematical models resin productivity dependence on biometrical, morphological trees indices, methods of creating and shaping of pine plantations with high biological resin productivity have been added and extended. The practical significance. The obtained scientific research results allow establishing the resource potential of resin harvesting in Ukraine, to select pine forms of high resin productivity. The efficiency of the new catalyst of resin productivity application has been proved, the basis of the creation and formation of the forest breeding methods of pine plantations to harvest resin has been motivated. New, environmentally sound methods and techniques of resin harvesting in Ukraine has been worked out. Proceedings of the thesis can be used to develop regulations for resin harvesting in Ukraine and efficient organization of resin tapping in the harvesting plantations of Derzlisagenstva of Ukraine and in the forest lands of other subordination fund other affiliation. Area of application: forestry.
