Essay

The thesis proposed and implemented the theoretical foundations of modern medical and informational system for identifying persons by dental status with comparisons of digital radiographic images and additional laboratory studies, among which are method of the contrast contouring the results of dental procedures, the method of image intensity comparing, the method of dynamic registration of changes the level of the alveolar part of the jaws, method of proportional and constant anthropometric indexes of mandible, the method of relevant comparison of clustered objects of digital images, method of dental status registration using ciphers and codes, the method of ultrasonic identification of major dental materials and prosthetics. The basic principle of the proposed program is the individualization of the morphological and functional changes of the dento-alveolar region due to dental procedures, ensuring the maximum possible amount of informational data, including not only the design features, but also their location, position, specific coordinates that allow the identification even during the analysis of a small segment of radiograph image. In addition, it is designed due to the specific principles of dental care in Ukraine and features of notation dental documentation approved by Ministry of Health in Ukraine. Integrated health informational system operates using a wide range of software, including graphic editors, application software utilities, system scripts, encrypted database, schemas of construction for undirected graphs, principles of mathematical matrix relations, due to modalities protocol, computer processing, analysis and evaluation of odontological status changes as results of major dental diseases, comprehensive dental treatment and rehabilitation of victims. Consequently, the proposed medical and informational system of identification of the dental status ensures objectivity of forensic examinations in view of the morphological and functional changes of dentoalveolar region, as consequences of dental treatment and rehabilitation, based on X-ray studies.
