Danylyk I. Family Cyperaceae Juss. of the flora of Ukraine: systematics, phytogeography, ecological and morphological differentiation and protection

The comprehensive study of the family Cyperaceae in Ukraine is performed. Comparative morphological analysis of diagnostic features is conducted and the main trends of morphological evolution of the family are identified. The system of the family is worked out; it includes 153 species from 19 genera, 8 tribes and one subfamily. A large variety of area groups of species for zonal, climatic, altitude and regional habitat types is established. A high heterogeneity of the sedges by biomorphological, ecological and population characteristics is revealed, as well as their phytocenotic role is shown. The sozological evaluation of rare species is conducted and the practical recommendations for their protection are substantiated.
