The thesis is devoted to the development of theoretical and methodological foundations and conceptual foundations of strategic management of the resource potential of the region; the theoretical and methodological bases of strategic management of resource potential of the region are investigated, the essential content and the conceptual framework of the strategic vision of economic development of the region are defined, and its functional purpose and strategic objectives are defined; the methodological approaches to assessment of the effectiveness of use of the resource potential of the region are improved, the scientific approach to the positioning of the regions is developed, and the matrix of active resource potential "the factorial production - resource potential" is created; the methodological foundations of strategic management of resource potential of the region are deepened, the conceptual scheme of the mechanism and strategic management of the resource potential of the region is developed, and the system of principles of formation of the mechanism of strategic management of resource potential of the region is formed and expanded; the simulation model of strategic management of resource potential of the region is formed; the recommendations for the strategic management of resource potential of the region are developed.
