Beilin M. Nanotechnologies in context of postnonclassic science: a forming of philosophical foundations

The object – a system of "nanotechnologies – NBIC-tetrahedron – NBIC-initiative". Main aim is to form some philosophical foundations of nanotechnologies as a constitutive component of the NBIC-tetrahedron. The methods are directed to find and compose reliable scientific and philosophic argumentation of the problem-oriented research (historical method, holistic approach, transdisciplinarity approach, comparative analysis, hermeneutic method, etc.). The theoretical results and their novelty. Open for further addition and clarification system of philosophical – ontological, epistemological, axiological and methodological – foundations of nanotechnologies is formed for the first time: it is grounded that the philosophical foundations of nanotechnologies as a phenomenon of the postnonclassical science – global evolutionism and system approach – are “absorbed” by today holism; in the epistemological foundations of nanotechnologies it is appropriate to take into account current philosophical scepticism; in the axiological foundations of nanotechnologies and NBIC-initiative it is essential to take into account the agonistic nature of possible human aims and values; a notion about contemporary methodology of cognition-creation which is realized through R&D approach is improved; a row of basic concepts of nanodiscourse are clarified (nanoreality, nanoworld, NBIC-initiative, etc.); grounded on the “transdisciplinarity-1” concept a multi-step algorithm for the comparative analysis of the set of ideas about future nanoworld, represented in scientific predictions and science fiction pieces, are elaborated and fulfilled; conceptual base of nanosecurity with accent on the social and humanitarian expertise is improved. The thesis practical importance is that the system of philosophical foundations of nanotechnologies proposed will support the active inclusion of nanotechnologies to the contemporary scientific worldview, common outlook, culture on the whole. The results obtained will be useful to develop new programs for domestic technoscience and nanoindustry; to improve the social and humanitarian nanotechnology expertise; to prepare advanced academic courses in philosophy of technoscience, security of life activity, etc.
