Essay

The thesis presents theoretic summary and new solution to the problem of determination of genetic predisposition to the development of intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) syndrome in newborns from Ivano-Frankivsk region. Relying on the findings of genetic-and-demographic monitoring (patterns of birth defects and congenital malformations, distribution of phenotypes by AB0 and Rh blood group systems) we have studied the genetic structure of different populations of Ivano-Frankivsk region. We have suggested the strategy of pathogenesis of intrauterine growth restriction development, worked out the method of diagnosis and preventive measures of intrauterine growth restriction.
