Tsenkler N. Economic development of the Carpathian region in terms of deepening European integration processes

The thesis is devoted to development of theoretical and methodological foundations of the study of regional economic development in the context of the revitalization process of international economic integration between the EU and Ukraine on the example of the Carpathian region and substantiation of practical recommendations for the development of guidelines and mechanisms to implement the strategy transformation of the regional economy in terms of European integration. The article analyzes the existing foreign and domestic science approaches and the essence of key categories of research. Studied the legal framework of Ukraine concerning the regulation of the regional economy and the state's participation in the European integration process. The approaches to the assessment of the regional economy and provides the main directions of its transformation under conditions of deepening European integration processes. Preconditions and factors outlined retrospective trends and features of the present stage of economic development of the region, the estimation of Foreign Economic Relations of the Carpathian region in the changing priorities of international integration of the country, the processes of convergence. The role of social factors in enhancing European integration, the problems of socialization of the economy of the Carpathian region and proposed solutions. The comparative analysis of economic development of adjacent regions of Ukraine and EU member states. Discovered and characterized the problems of spatial development of the region in the context of European integration, marked and described modern spatial forms of economic activities in the Carpathian region. Various kinds of new forms of spatial economy of the region and appreciated its role in stimulating economic development, grounded concept of "innovation network spatial region," outlines the areas of designing the example of the Carpathian region. Reviewed by promising economic development opportunities in the Carpathian region in order to balance the needs of the public and state interests. Done statistical analysis and developed predictive models and scenarios of economic development of the Carpathian region in the context of intensified European integration processes. Values outlined future development of various economic activities in the Carpathian region in the framework of the concept of economic transformation of the region in the context of European integration. Predictive conceptual directions and objectives of modern spatial structuring of the Carpathian region in light of the extension of the common European economic space. The ways and mechanisms to implement the strategy of economic development of the Carpathian region in terms of European integration, developed appropriate models.
