Kovalenko I. Ecological and Biological Properties of Herbaceous and Subshrub Cover of Forest Ecosystems in the North-East of Ukraine.

The object is vegetative-mobile plants of the herbaceous and subshrub plants of the North-East of Ukraine. The aim is a complex ecological and biological study of vegetative-mobile plants of the herbaceous and subshrub plants of the North-East of Ukraine as internally ecosystem structure, which determines the stability and self-support the region's forests. Methods of Forest Ecology, Geobotany and phytoecology populations, morphometry and phytoindication, statistics. This thesis is the first specialized comprehensive study of the herbaceous and subshrub plants of the North-East of Ukraine. Its main result is the forecast of the status and development of the populations of the herbaceous and subshrub layer plants in the forests of the region, research for the next 30 years, as well as the development of recommendations for ecological optimisation of the forestry activities aimed at preservation of the herbaceous and subshrub layer and its main, vegetative-mobile species in the process of forest cutting and in the course of reforestation successions. Application spheres are forest management, educational process.
