Essay

The object of research is formation of a quantitative model of description and presentation of performance irregularities on the surface material. The aim of research is improvement of the application of optical microscopy methods for evaluation of surface irregularities of the material and its use to monitor the objects technical condition by the development of new model approaches to the analysis of optical metallographic images. Methods of the theory of signal and images processing, statistical estimation theory, the theory of random point fields, numeric and computer modeling were used. New methods for determining the parameters of the material structure based on the characteristics of random point fields generated by metallographic images was developed and realized. A new approach to identify the mutual influence of defects on the surface of the material on the basis of determining the parameters of the distribution function of the random point field was developed and realized. New stochastic model for development of pitting corrosion on stainless steel surfaces, based on Gibbs' marked point processes, which take into account the value of the mutual influence of neighboring defects and describes their creation and distribution was developed and realized. The results of the thesis were implemented at the branch construction and assembly company "Ukrhazprombud" PAT "Ukrtransgaz", to control the damage of aboveground parts of steel pipes, at the state enterprise "Lviv Design Bureau" of Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine for assessing fracture pipe heating surfaces in boilers of type TP- 100 and TS-210, as well as at lecture courses and laboratory workshops for students of Stefanyk's Carpathian National University.
