The thesis deals with theoretical generalizations and new research addressing the problem of clinical and pathomorphological features of carotid disease - atherosclerosis, pathological deformation, fibro-muscular dysplasia, dissections, nonspecific aorto-arteritis. The scientific study uses clinical, morphological, biomechanical methods, including histological, histochemical, immunohistochemical and electron microscopy, and statistical methods. The practical significance is creating an algorithm for diagnosis of carotid disease.
