Kucab-Bonk K. Convergence in socio-economic space of cross-border region under the conditions of European integration

Object of research: processes of convergence in the socio-economic space of the transborder region. Objective: detection of regularities and developing of theoretical and methodological principles for the spread of cross-border convergence in the conditions of European integration, as well as developing of practical recommendations aimed at convergence of levels of socio-economic development of the adjacent border regions of Ukraine and the EU member states. Methods: monographic, comparisons, sociological research, analysis and synthesis, econometric modeling, graphical visualization, scientific generalizations. Novelty: for the first time the essence of the concept of "institutional trap of transborder divergence", which is treated as a quasi-effective self-replicating institute is determined, the mechanism of leveling the institutional trap of transborder divergence is proposed, the system of quantitative and qualitative indicators of socio-economic convergence in the conditions of development of the transborder region is proposed, the levers of stimulation of the transborder convergence and its key barriers are identified, methodological tools for simulating convergence processes in the socio-economic space of the transborder region by developing models of b-convergence and paired structural and economic convergence for the Ukrainian-Polish cross-border region, the theoretical basis for the study of convergent processes in the socio-economic space of the transborder region, the classification of factors promoting cross-border convergence on the basis of their grouping by criteria of spatial distribution, functional origin and target orientation are improved. Scope of use: in the activity of the Administration of the President of Ukraine during preparation of proposals for the Draft Resolution of the CMU "On Approval of the State Program for the Development of Cross-Border Cooperation for 2016-2020", the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine during the drafting of the Medium-Term Plan for Priority Actions of the Government until 2020, the Department of Economic Policy of the Lviv Regional State Administration in developing of the Lviv Region Development Strategy until 2020, the Department of International Technical Assistance and the International Cooperation of the Lviv Region State Administration and the implementation of measures to intensify cross-border cooperation between the Lviv region and the neighboring border provinces of Poland, the Lviv Chamber of Commerce and Industry when working with exporting enterprises, the Yavoriv District Local Economic Development Agency in the process of implementing the project "Inter-sectoral dialogue as a tool for the formation of capable communities and implementation of an effective territorial administration", the Magistrate of Yaroslav (Republic of Poland) at the improvement of cooperation within the Carpathian Euroregion.
