Object of research: processes of structural transformations in the economy of regions in the context of the intensification of European integration. Purpose: to substantiate theoretical and methodological principles of formation of regional policy of structural modernization of the Ukrainian economy in the conditions of activation of European integration processes and definition of strategic imperatives and mechanisms of its realization taking into account the experience of EU member states. Methods: logical generalization, analysis, comparison and synthesis, structural, factor, economic-statistical analysis, decomposition, economic-mathematical modeling, forecasting, strategic and structural-functional analysis, graphic and cartographic. Novelty: for the first time the conceptual foundations of the formation of the regional policy of structural modernization of the economy in the context of the intensification of the European integration processes were grounded, an indicative methodical approach to the evaluation of structural transformations of the region's economy was developed, a matrix of market drivers and growth factors in the context of selected groups of sectors of the economy of Ukraine according to criteria of their competitiveness and innovation is proposed, methodological provisions on the duality of regional policy for structural modernization of economy, principles of formation of a new paradigm of development, organizational and economic approaches to formation new industrial model of economic transformation regions of Ukraine are improved. Scope of use: used in the activities of the subcommittee on regional and cross-border cooperation between Ukraine and the EU member states of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on European Integration, the Ministry of Regional Development, Construction and Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine, regional authorities in the formulation of strategies, mid-term and annual, as well as target programs of economic development of the Lviv region, during the formation of mechanisms for structural modernization of the border areas of the Lviv region, implemented by the government of Podlasie in Poland, used in the preparation of scientific and methodological support of teaching at the Higher School of Economics in Bialystok (Poland).
