Essay

The object of research: power transformer-key executive nodes are made on the basis of thyristor switches with natural switching and transformers. The purpose of research: the development of the theory of commutation processes in power transformer-key executive nodes of AC converters and the creation on this basis of scientific and methodological approaches, rules and algorithms for the implementation of efficient commutation, the development of control systems for them. Methods of research: methods of theoretical electrical engineering, theories of electric machines and automatic regulation, simulation of electrical systems, physical modeling of electromagnetic processes. Theoretical and practical results and innovations: the principle of control of thyristor keys with natural switching independent of the configuration of the power unit is proposed and substantiated; for the first time, the generalized switching principle of the transformer-key node, which uses the property of the electromagnetic inertia of the magnetic fluxes of the transformer, is proposed and scientifically substantiated; scientifically substantiated application of the generalized principle of inertial switching for volt booster transformers and three-phase transformers; a method for modifying switching control systems and improving their functionality has been developed. A subject degree of introduction: industrial production at Mayak OJSC (Vinnitsa), at the Neon plant (Zaporizhia), at the Plasma Scientific Production Enterprise (Rostov-on-Don) and the Institute of Electric Welding of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (Kyiv). Effectiveness of implantation: increasing the reliability of systems and reducing power consumption by reducing the values of switching currents. Sphere of use: AC voltage regulators.
