Essay

The dissertation investigates the structure and mechanisms of aggregation and complex formation in liquid systems with fullerenes. A detailed analysis of the aggregation of fullerenes in systems of different polarity, including in aqueous medium, was carried out. The solvatochromic effects in fluid systems with fullerenes are described in detail, and their causes are determined. The analysis of the influence of complexing of fullerene with solvent molecules on ion formation during the mass spectrometric experiment was carried out. As a result of the research, a new method of dissolving fullerenes in water has been proposed. The obtained water systems of fullerenes C60 and C70 are characterized by small sizes of aggregates of fullerenes in comparison with systems synthesized according to known methods. The structure and stability in the physiological conditions of liquid systems with fullerenes, obtained by means of various synthesis methods, were studied. It was shown that the aqueous liquid systems have low toxicity and, according to the data of small-angle neutron scattering, amyloid fibrils that are responsible for the development of neurodegenerative diseases are effectively destroyed.
