The dissertation contains the decision of the actual scientific and applied problem of machine science - development of the methodology of designing permanent and safety couplings with rope elements, based on the joint use of system methods for synthesizing the structure of these devices with the justification of their design schemes, parameters, as well as qualitative characteristics and indicators. The classification of elastic-compensating couplings, developed by the author, with the all-metal and rope elements, developed earlier by the author, resulted in the synthesis of new permanent and safety couplings at the level of circuits and designs. A new classification of methods of organizing the rigidity of elastic links of machines equipped with all-metal and rope elastic elements has been developed, due to which new methods of its maintenance and algorithm of synthesis of structure of such units are developed. An analytical support for designing permanent and safety couplings with rope elements has been developed. The mathematical models of the layout of such couplings, taking into account geometrical and load limits, are developed. The optimization problem of providing the minimum load of details of the couplings at designing is solved. The work of clamping mechanisms for steel ropes was experimentally and theoretically investigated and the bases of their calculation and design were developed. Due to the implementation of developed and investigated coupling designs in the operating equipment, their efficiency and effectiveness of the proposed design methodology have been confirmed.
