Essay

The thesis is designed to study the heterogeneity of the Earth's crust of Ukraine and adjacent regions based on detailed 3D gravity models of separate tectonic regions. They were calculated using the automated program complex GMT-Auto for the interpretation of potential fields. Essentially new information has been obtained on the detailed 3D distribution of unified density in the crustal blocks, the layers that compose them, and fault zones. The heterogeneity of the present-day consolidated crust of the whole study area is characterized by granitic, granitic-dioritic, dioritic and basaltoid types. For the first time, the type of the crust has been distinguished that is characterized by the presence of a "basaltic" and "granite" layers in it (with absence or very low thickness of the "diorite" layer). In using a fundamentally new set of potential fields (residual gravity, obtained by removing the gravity effect of water and sedimentary layers, and anomalous magnetic field) new information has been obtained on the fault systems of the consolidated crust for the north-western and north-eastern shelves of the Black Sea. It demonstrates the relationship between the faults, their influence on the formation of the main structures of the sedimentary cover, to which, especially in the areas of intersection of faults, hydrocarbon deposits are confined. Key words: 3D gravity modelling, Earth’s crust of Ukraine and adjacent regions, density, "granite", "diorite" and "basalt" layers, types of consolidated crust, fault tectonics
