Essay

In the dissertation work the important scientific and applied problem of development of theoretical and practical bases of technological maintenance of quality of book production is solved. Technological processes of manufacturing ergonomic resource-saving book covers are substantiated and developed and the influence on their structural strength of discrete glue application and modified adhesive polymer compositions is investigated. A conceptual model of optimization of structural and physical properties of adhesive joints as a means of increasing the strength of semi-rigid covers as a result of bonding their structural components with modified polymer adhesive compositions based on poly-vinyl acetate dispersions (PVAD) and mixtures of emulsifiers with PVAD latexes introduced into their structure in different weight proportions. Methods of mathematical modeling of control of technological processes of adhesive bonding of the W-shaped root part of book blocks sewn by threads, processes of angular shift of root polymeric adhesive plate, influence of binding adhesives on natural angles of opening of book blocks are developed. A universal mathematical model and means for determining the factors of destruction of the root part of book blocks sewn with threads, based on the revealed influence of the thickness of the adhesive layer on the change of girth angles and tangent angles, which at the point of intersection fix indicators of technologically optimal thickness of selected characteristics. The methodology of optimal measurement of strength of materials of production of semi-rigid covers with use of the first entered indicators of measurement in the longitudinal and cross directions of an arrangement of fibers is developed and practically realized. Based on the identified features of bonding the W-shaped root part of the book blocks sewn with threads, a methodology for calculating the profile application of the adhesive layer on the root part of the blocks, composed of notebooks with the same and different number of pages. Developed, substantiated and practically tested the method of calculating the necessary and sufficient amount of glue for edging W-shaped roots of book blocks, which takes into account the geometric features of the blocks, provides their main characteristics in strength and service life, provides conditions for minimizing glue costs in the process. Presents the results of theoretical and experimental investigation of the effect of discrete glue application as well as modified glue compounds on the strength of semi-rigid covers. This enabled the creation of a proportional modeling system for discrete glue application, in tape or cell method, to calculate the strength of semi- rigid covers. It takes into account the predetermined dimensions of glue and non- glue areas, the alternation of which forms the expected strength value.
