Object of study – agro-resource potential of the eastern part of the Forest-Steppe, tendencies of changes in soil fertility in the organic farming system. The aim of the study – to assess the agro-resource potential of the eastern part of the Forest-Steppe, to establish trends in the main parameters of fertility of typical chernozem in the system of organic farming, to develop perspective models of agricultural production with obtaining organic products and optimizing the level of profitability of organic agroecosystems. Research methods – general scientific: method of hypotheses - development of a research topic, drawing up an experiment scheme; experimental method – different crop rotations; method of analysis – studying the object of research; method of synthesis – the formation of conclusions and generalizations; method of induction – selection of crop rotations with the highest productivity and attractiveness of crop products; special methods: long field method – to determine the productivity potential of short-term crop rotations; laboratory method – determination of agrophysical, agrochemical and biological indicators of soil fertility according to accepted analytical methods in agriculture, agrochemistry and crop production; calculation-comparative – objective assessment of experimental data: assessment of productivity, economic and energy efficiency of short-term crop rotations; method of mathematical statistics – preparation of experimental data for analysis and determination of the probability and accuracy of the results obtained on the basis of an integrated approach; method of multivariate simulation computer modeling. Theoretical and practical results – the materials and conclusions on the dissertation are the basis of a number of recommendations for farms in the region and reflected in the «Agriculture system of Kharkiv region (scientific support» Comprehensive program of agricultural development of Kharkiv region in 2001–2005 and for the period up to 2010»). Novelty – for the first time, agroecological justification was provided for a wide range of crop rotations of various economic orientation while maintaining soil fertility; the average levels of crop yields have been established, as well as the limits of their fluctuations under the conditions of application to fertilizer only non-marketable products without the use of agrochemicals; the search for mathematical relationships between crop yields and their predecessors, the hydrothermal regime, the amount of non-marketable products entering the soil and the reserves of basic nutrients in it have been improved; promising scenarios for the formation of organic agricultural production were developed using the method of multivariate simulation computer modeling. The level of implementation – the results of research work were implemented in the State Enterprise "Experimental Farm "Elitne" of the Institute of Plant Breeding NAAS" of Kharkiv region, PE "Aziz" Balakliia district of Kharkiv region, Farm "Ripky" Bohodukhiv district of Kharkiv region and Ltd. "AGROEXPERT" of Kharkiv region, in addition, the results of the study are introduced into the educational process during the teaching of disciplines "Ecological agriculture", "Organic agriculture" and "Modern farming systems" for students majoring in 101 "Ecology", 201 "Agronomy", 015 "Professional education" educational levels bachelor and Master of Kharkiv National Agrarian University named after V. V. Dokuchaiev. Scope (area) of use – organic agricultural enterprises of the Eastern Forest-Steppe.
