The dissertation research is devoted to the problem of psychological regulation of communication in children with intellectual disabilities, development of research systems and psychological support of psychological regulation of communication. The main approaches to the study of communication have been developed theoretically, which allowed us to define them as interdependent social activities in which the interlocutors exchange information through special communication channels and participate in communicative interaction. The concept of «psychological regulation of communication» is explained as a mechanism for the formation of communicative actions, which provides the organizational structure with interaction and dynamic aspects, represented by a sequence of states, processes, management system and personal characteristics in communication. The psychological regulation of communication is presented as a system, which reflects a triad of intellectual, emotional and volitional components of psychological regulation. Intellectual regulation is considered from the position of organizational and managerial approach with ability to produce consciously, process information within interpersonal interaction and ensure the structural organization in the communication process. Emotional regulation of communication is presented in the context of the socio-regulatory approach as a purposeful process for organizing emotional behavior in terms of communicative interaction and the ability to influence behavior in others.
