Essay

The principles of optimization of the structural-phase state of nanostructured ion-plasma coatings and the development of technologies for applying them to the working surfaces of a cutting tool for processing superhard materials have been determined. The super-solid state of composite coatings is achieved by combining a solid nanocrystalline phase and a layer of amorphous phase by doping the material with silicon and boron elements. The resulting coatings are characterized by a super-solid state, high values of the elastic modulus and adhesion strength. The influence of annealing on the condition of the coatings has been determined. According to the results of industrial testing of a cutting tool equipped with protective coatings, the increase in the efficiency of the tool in 2 – 3 times. The recommendations concerning optimization of technological processes of forming of protective coatings are formulated.
