Essay

The main activities of modern non-banking financial institutions are related to the accumulation of savings by raising funds for deposits, issue of own shares, bonds, sale of insurance policies; lending to a certain sphere of economy or economic activity, population group; provision of mortgage loans: organization of pension and social security of the population; implementation of operations in the framework of mutual credit assistance. The study of economic activity of non-banking financial institutions as financial market institutions and the basis of economic growth, identified the main points of formation and development of the domestic financial services market, which, in turn, is the basis for periodization of non-banking financial institutions. The classification of non-banking financial institutions has been developed and a number of classification features have been identified, from the organizational and legal point of view and functional purpose. In particular, in the context of the organizational and legal aspect, ten classification features have been identified, namely: depending on the legal status; by legal status; by form of ownership; according to the ownership of capital and control; depending on the organizational form; depending on the field of activity; for the purpose of activity; by belonging to industrial financial groups; by legal status and in accordance with the law. Instead, in terms of functional aspect, seven classification features are proposed: depending on the nature of the services provided; depending on the form of services provided; depending on the type of services offered; depending on the list of services of market participants; by participating in investment processes; depending on the category of clients to whom the services are provided and the nature of the activity. This classification is based on the peculiarities of domestic non-bank financial institutions and most fully characterizes the data of economic entities in terms of organizational, legal and functional aspects.
