Objects of investigation. The flood-plain stands of the Left-bank Ukraine. Aim of investigation. To develop scientific base of forest management in the flood-plain forests of the Left-bank Ukraine accounting their increasing role in the system of river basins. Methods and equipment. The network of temporal and permanent (with long-term observations) plots grounded by methods common for forestry, taxation, soil science, hydrology. Theoretical and practical results. Conception of the forest growing on the system and program & purpose base, recommendations on forest management in the river flood-plain stands of the Left-bank Ukraine. Advances. The system of measures on strengthening of ecological & protective functions of flood-plain stands, the tables for flood-plain forest types diagnosis, the models of forming the high productive oak stands, optimal ages of stands' maturity, optimized main felling and thinning system were proposed.
