According to the comprehensive study of the clinical and neuroimaging data, the dissertation presents a theoretical introduction of the scientific problem — secondary hemorrhagic progression of brain contusions, which mean an increasing of brain contusion in the size over 30%, and appearance of new distant contusions that were absent during the initial examination. On the clinical data, the structure, peculiarities and radiological features of the brain contusions and their clinical manifestations in case of secondary hemorrhagic progression were studied, the clinical course was compared with neuroimaging data in patients with secondary hemorrhagic progression, risk factors for hemorrhagic progression and clinical deterioration in patients cerebral contusions were analized, and optimal set of instrumental diagnostic evaluation was offered. The features and results of surgical interventions in patients with cerebral contusions complicated by secondary hemorrhagic progression were also analyzed.
