Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the research and solution of the actual problem of improving the scientifically based choice of textile materials for products for persons with disabilities. A large contingent of the disabled population consists of people who, due to illness or trauma suffered, have spinal cord lesions and move with the help of a wheelchair. One of the most popular types of clothing for this consumer category is a tracksuit, which is widely used both for physical training and sports, and for everyday use. . The survey and analysis of existing sportswear for persons with spinal cord injuries allowed establishing the influence of the features of physical condition, physiological changes of the physique, specific psychophysical moments and operating conditions on the requirements for the design of sportswear and materials for its manufacture, providing high ergonomic and operational characteristics. A universal tracksuit kit for persons with spinal cord injuries has been developed. A survey which was provided among specialists and further expert evaluation allowed establishing a hierarchical structure and identifying significantly important quality indicators of knitted fabrics for the constituent parts of the developed tracksuit kit and composite materials for anti-decubitus application inserts. A new assortment of application textile composites with carbon fabrics was developed for use as inserts in the areas contacting with decubitus ulcers. The studies of the influence of the raw material composition and the structure of the nonwoven bases of the application composites on the moisture absorption and drying features showed the possibility of targeted regulation of these processes. А methodological approach to a scientifically sound selection of materials for a multi-layered tracksuit kit with a climate control function, designed for persons who move with the help of a wheelchair, has been developed. А nomenclature of quality indicators of materials of different layers of a multifunctional tracksuit kit for persons with spinal cord injuries is expanded to include indicators reflecting the specific physiological state of the consumer and the conditions of product use. Using the methods of mathematical modeling, it is shown the possibility to determine the real indicators of liquid penetration, the beginning of its evaporation, the maximum liquid content in the material in steady state mode, as well as the selection of material structure characteristics under environmental conditions to ensure the specified values of these parameters. The design and confection of materials for a universal tracksuit for persons with spinal injuries are made; the tracksuit kit includes pants of special design with a corrective rigid corset, jacket with transformable parts, a sweatshirt with zonal arrangement of anti-decubitus textile inserts, vest with self-heating, which is provided by built-in solar panels. The method of determination and evaluation of moisture transport properties of textile materials and therapeutic and preventive application composite inserts intended for adaptive sportswear has been improved.
