Poltavets Y. The Hetman Petro Sahaidachnyi National Ground Forces Academy in the system of higher military education (2009–2018)

The dissertation is devoted to the analysis of the directions of activity of the National Academy of Land Forces in the period from 2009 to 2018. The study is conducted at the intersection of modern Ukrainian history, the formation of the Ukrainian educational system in the post-Soviet period, the formation and operation of a network of higher military educational institutions of Ukraine, history and modernity of the National Army Academy named after hetman Petro Sahaidachny, war in eastern Ukraine and the temporary occupation of Ukraine. The main idea of the work is to recreate the stories related to the role and place of the National Army Academy named after hetman Petro Sahaidachny in the military education system of Ukraine, strengthening the state's defense capabilities, features of the educational process, scientific and technical activities, cultural, educational and sports life. . The author finds that the National Army Academy named after hetman Petro Sahaidachny plays a key role in the system of higher military education of Ukraine, in particular in the training of military specialists for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations, training of scientific and pedagogical personnel, patriotism and professionally important qualities necessary to perform the assigned tasks, implementation of scientific and scientific-technical activities in the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and in the direction of improving the educational process of the Academy, implementation of international cooperation in education and science, promoting Ukraine's integration into the North Atlantic Alliance. It was found that the NAV made a significant contribution to ensuring the state's defense capabilities during the Russian-Ukrainian war. The scientific novelty of the obtained results is that for the first time at the dissertation level a comprehensive analysis of the main activities of the National Army Academy named after hetman Peter Sahaidachny, which analyzed the development and improvement of the educational process, scientific and technical activities, international cooperation for educational and scientific activities. The results of the dissertation research can be used to prepare works on the military history of Ukraine and the history of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In addition, the materials of the dissertation research can be used for military-patriotic education of youth.
