Essay

The object of research - features of manifestation and variability of important quantitative and qualitative features, polymorphism of collection samples of winter triticale on the grounds of suitability for processing into biofuels. The aim of the work is to study winter triticale polymorphism on a set of valuable economic traits, to improve methods of assessment of selection material for biofuel suitability, to establish peculiarities of manifestation and variability of most important traits and to identify new sources for selection of alcohol-distillate varieties. Research methods: field (assessment of the stages of development during the growing season, overwintering, general condition of plants, diseases), laboratory (PCR analysis, infrared spectroscopy, light microscopy), measuring and weighing (determination of direct indicators of plant productivity), mathematical and statistical (correlation, regression, analysis of variance, factor analysis and others). The genetic diversity of collection samples in terms of yield, elements of seed productivity, content and quality of starch has been established and new sources of valuable traits have been identified. The peculiarities of the formation and patterns of manifestation of various economically important features are established. The economic estimation of new grades is given. Developed "Method for selection of triticale selection material by particle size distribution of starch" (Patent for utility model No. 140021, Ukraine, 2020). New varieties of winter triticale Frodo (Application No. 21022002) and Olevia (Application No. 210220039118) were created and submitted to UIESR for testing. 4 collection specimens of winter triticale were submitted for registration to the NCGRRU.
