Shuiskyi I. All–Ukrainian system of Torgsin in Kharkiv region: creation and functioning (1931–1936)

The object of the thesis is the socio-economic history of Ukraine in the 1920-1930s. The subject of the thesis is the activities of the All–Union Association “Torgsin”, the Kharkiv branch of Torgsin, from April 01, 1932 the Kharkiv regional office and the trading network "Torgsin". The purpose of the thesis is to highlight the reasons for the creation, peculiarities of functioning, the role of the Kharkiv regional office "Torgsin" on the territory of the Kharkiv region in the contemporary administrative-territorial boundaries, based on a thorough analysis of historical sources, the results of long-standing and modern studies of domestic and foreign scientists, using the latest methodology. The results of the thesis: the opening history of the All–Union Association “Torgsin” and the Kharkiv branch of Torgsin, the creation of the regional office "Torgsin" and a trading network in the Kharkiv region have been thoroughly investigated; the powers, functions and subordination of structures have been determined, their changes and reorganizations have been identified. The directions of the activities of the Kharkiv regional office "Torgsin" have been analyzed. The reasons for the dismissal of the workers in the Torgsin system from mobilization for grain procurement campaigns in 1932-1933s have been clarified; the main categories of Torgsin's clients have been identified, the receipt through Torgsin of foreign aid to ethnic Germans – the residents of the Kharkiv region has been proven, archival criminal cases of recipients of money transfers from Germany have been investigated. The graphic image of the Torgsin trademark, language, form and content of advertisements have been analyzed. On the example of the Kharkiv regional office "Torgsin" the system of state control has been reconstructed, the revealed characteristic violations and abuse of trade workers have been investigated. On the example of the Kharkiv regional office "Torgsin", the personnel policy has been analyzed, the mechanism of comb-outs has been investigated. Scope of application: in the preparation of the generalized works on the history of Ukraine, the history of the Holodomor in the Kharkiv region, as well as the history of Torgsin's activities on the territory of the USSR, in the local history works, study guides.
