Essay

In today's world, the persecution of Christians is a tragic threat – a horrific manifestation of human violence and discrimination in the 21st century due to hatred not only of Christianity as a religion, but also of the very foundations of freedom, including freedom of conscience and religion. One of the regions where Christians have been most persecuted in recent years for their religion is the Middle East since the Arab Spring, which has seen an increase in Islamic fundamentalism and radical nationalism. Persecution of the Church is a challenge not only for Christians in the Middle East, but also for the Church in any country, both in the theological disclosure of persecution through religious beliefs and in the context of the religious study of Christian-Muslim dialogue.
