Essay

Object of study – processes of growth, development and formation of productivity of winter barley varieties depending on sowing dates and growth regulators on irrigated lands of the Southern Steppe. The aim is to study and determine the patterns of growth and development of plants, the formation of grain productivity of new varieties of winter barley depending on the timing of sowing, the use of growth regulators for seed and plant processing, and improve elements of cultivation technology that meet the biological requirements of these varieties irrigated lands of the Southern Steppe. Methods - field - to determine the interaction of the object of study with weather and agronomic factors and the formation of plant productivity and indicators of crop structure; laboratory - to determine the quality of grain and agrochemical properties of the soil; statistical - to determine the reliability of research results; calculation and comparison - to establish the economic and energy efficiency of the developed technological methods of growing winter barley. Results - Improved elements of technology of winter barley cultivation on irrigated lands of the south of Ukraine are recommended for production. The research results were tested and implemented in the production conditions of Kherson region: State Enterprise "Experimental Farm" Askaniyske "of Kakhovka district on the area of 56.5 hectares, State Enterprise" Experimental Farm "Kakhovske" of Kakhovka district on the area of 26 hectares and agrofirm state farm "Bilozersky" of Bilozersky district Kherson region on the area of 60 hectares, in which the improved technology of growing winter barley Dev’iatyi val variety provided a grain yield of 0.36–0.41 t/ha higher than the existing one. Novelty - for the first time for the conditions of irrigation of the Southern Steppe of Ukraine the peculiarities of growth, development and formation of grain productivity of new varieties of winter barley Akademichnyi and Dev’iatyi val depending on sowing dates and growth regulators were studied. Regularities of formation of photosynthetic activity of plants and quality of grain at different terms of sowing and processing of seeds and plants of growth by regulating drugs that gave the chance to use them in technology of cultivation are established. The scientific value - the basic technology of growing winter barley under irrigation has been improved by optimizing the direct action and interaction of the variety, sowing dates and growth regulators, as well as reducing resource costs. Further development of research on the growth and development of plants of different varieties of winter barley, the formation of high yields and grain quality by optimizing the basic elements of technology and efficient use of water and soil fertility. Sector – agriculture.
