Synyavskyy P. International legal regulation in the field of asylum

The dissertation is devoted to a comprehensive research of the legal regulation of asylum issues in international law, the law of the EU and the national legislation of Ukraine. Taking into account the latest achievements of legal science, the right of individual to asylum has been systematically studied, a number of scientific provisions and practical recommendations have been formulated for the legal provision of the human right to asylum in the context of elaboration Ukrainian legislation to international legal standards and the standards of the European Union. The formation and development of the asylum institution in international law are analyzed, the sequence of measures that led to the establishment and functioning of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees as the most authoritative agency of the UN system, which deals with refugees, stateless persons, internally displaced persons are characterized, the main provisions of the International instruments on refugees – the United Nations Convention Relating to the Status of Refugees of 1951 and the Protocol on the Status of Refugees of 1967, as well as the Global Compact on Refugees and the New Pact of Migration and Asylum as modern mechanisms for sharing the burden of responsibility are outlined.
