The author of the dissertation has provided theoretical generalization and a new solution to a scientific problem that is manifested in the determining the specifics of the investigation of illegal logging and smuggling of forests by an organized criminal group. It has been established that the increase in cases of criminal offenses against the environment in the field of forestry by organized criminal groups, including those related to illegal logging or illegal transportation, storage, sale of forests, as well as movement across the customs border of Ukraine out of customs control or concealment customs control of timber or lumber of valuable and rare species of trees, unprocessed timber and other timber prohibited for export outside the customs territory of Ukraine, and the lack of relevant forensic recommendations for their detection and investigation necessitates the construction of a separate method of crime. investigation of illegal logging and forest smuggling committed by an organized criminal group.
