Essay

The dissertation research was the first to conduct a comprehensive study of information and psychological confrontation during the Russian-Georgian military conflict in August 2008 through the use of a wide range of sources and scientific literature. Scientific research was aimed at separating the nature, ways of implementation and forms of information and psychological confrontation during the Russian-Georgian conflict and to reveal its consequences in the context of increasing Russian influence in the South Caucasus. The author's approach in determining the peculiarities of coverage of this confrontation during the active phase of hostilities on the basis of elaboration of various sources is shown in the paper.
