Tureha Y. The governance and municipalism of the town of Brody in the late 16th – 18th centuries.

In the thesis so called "sphere of power" is examined. The latter was a substantial part of the town of Brody’s social life. This sphere guaranteed stability in every other realm of social life. The main content of the thesis is given in five chapters, each of which is devoted to a certain field of the overall subject. Their succession logically and fully describes and explains the subject of the whole research. In order to achieve his goals, the author of the dissertation started from handling historiography but the main stress was put on the work with the written heritage of the Brody council (1587–1772). In the thesis, the hypothesis about the frame of the Power sphere in Brody is proved. As a hierarchical structure, it consists of three levels: (1) lord of the town – (2) lord's governors – (3) urban authority.
