Ohirko M. Improving the technology of ensuring the quality of imprints on corrugated cardboard for decorating packaging

The dissertation is devoted to the solution of the actual scientific and applied task of improving the technology of ensuring the quality of imprints on corrugated cardboard by identifying the mutual influence of the features of offset, flexographic and digital (ink-jet) printing on corrugated cardboard by preprint and postprint methods and decorating by luminescence and aromatization methods on densitometric, colorimetric, printing-technical indicators of imprint’s quality; evaluation of the morphological structure and topography of the liners surface and imprints on them, development of a methodology for evaluating the generalized indicator of the imprint’s quality; simulation of the stress-strain state of corrugated cardboard during printing; creation of a model for parametric forecasting of the effectiveness of packaging aromatization by the Peel&Smell method; determination of influencing factors on the amount of migration of harmful components from imprints to packaged products, which enables the development of a conceptual model of the system for monitoring and evaluating the imprint’s quality, the algorithm of the system for the justified selection of printing methods on corrugated cardboard to increase the environmental friendliness and efficiency of packaging production. The practical significance of the obtained scientific results is aimed at ensuring the imprints quality on corrugated cardboard obtained by the preprint and postprint method. Methods of decorating packaging with luminescent printed images (utility model patent No. 148804) and aromatization, which provide a closed presentation of aroma by the Peel&Smell method using aroma varnish and sticker-labels (utility model patent No. 136660), are proposed. Approbation of production tests of the quality of offset imprints on corrugated cardboard using the preprint method was carried out at the private enterprise PALP MILL PRINT (Kyiv). The developed technological instructions "Evaluation of the imprints quality using the desirability function and the Harrington scale" were agreed with LLC «Elgraf» (Lviv). The results of the research were implemented in the educational process of the UAР.
