Savytskyi V. Legal regulation of labor migration in the European Union

The thesis is devoted to theoretical and practical aspects of legal regulation of international migration in European Union. The scientific paper reveals interpretations of the concepts of migration, external (international) migration, labor migration, international labor migration, migrant worker, etc. based on the analysis of scientific approaches and provisions of legal acts. It is established that migration is divided into types depending on: direction, time, expression of will, reasons for realization. This is substantiated in the thesis that the development of international legal regulation of labor migration began much later than the phenomenon itself. There are three stages in the formation of international legal regulation of labor migration: the period of absence of international legal regulation of labor migration; the period of interwar settlement of the issue of international labor migration; the modern stage (the stage after the formation of the UN). At the present stage, legal norms have been developed on the issue of international labor migration, but even now they continue to be at the stage of their development, because we can observe a qualitative change in international relations and the situation in the field of migration.
