The dissertation is one of the first in Ukraine monographic study of theoretical and practical issues of the methodology investigating domestic violence, which includes the following elements: forensic characteristics of the criminal offense; typical investigative situations at certain stages of investigation; complexes of procedural measures, in particular, investigative (search) actions, the direction and sequence of which depend on different factors and investigation situations; peculiarities of special knowledge use, including the appointment and conducting of forensic examinations. It has been established that the content of the complex forensic methodology of investigating domestic violence includes the main structural elements as follows: forensic characteristics of the criminal offense (method of commission; time, place and the setting of commission; the identity of the victim; the identity of the criminal; typical traces of the criminal offense); complexes of procedural measures, in particular investigative (search) actions, the direction and sequence of which depend on different factors and investigation situations; typical investigative situations at separate stages of the investigation, the content of which is determined by the peculiarities of search and cognitive processes aimed at solving qualification, procedural, organizational-administrative, preventive and other tasks; peculiarities of the use of special knowledge, including the appointment and conducting of forensic examinations. The systematization of the elements of complex forensic methodology, which is most effective for solving practical tasks and rational organization of activities and choosing the optimal methods of effective investigation of domestic violence, is proposed.
