Essay

The dissertation is devoted to solving the scientific and technical problem of improving the quality and properties of steel castings, developing new technological schemes for their production through a targeted influence on the temperature-kinetic parameters of processing the melt during the pre-crystallization period, crystallization, structure formation, and solid-phase transformations. Based on systematic research, regularities of the influence of thermokinetic processing parameters of steel melts in the pre-crystallization period, during crystallization, and in the temperature range of solid-phase transformations on the processes of structure formation and properties development in castings have been established, which opens up opportunities for their targeted modification to ensure high mechanical and operational performance of cast steel products. The results of the research on the regularities of the influence of thermal-time conditions on the processes of crystallization and structure formation expand the possibilities of controlling the phase-structural state of steel castings, open up additional reserves for improving their properties, developing new foundry technologies, and materials.
