Lytsyk I. Christian necropolises of the Halych-Volhynian lands of the XI–XIV centuries

The dissertation is devoted to the interdisciplinary study of Christian burial monuments of the 11th-14th centuries. found within the Galicia-Volhynia lands. The focus of archaeological research is on burial objects, their topography, typology and accompanying inventory, the detailed study of which in combination with the analysis of narrative and other sources makes it possible to answer questions about the process of formation of Christian burial culture, its ideological and practical components in the princely era . The purpose of the study is the systematization of funerary monuments, the generalization of the process of formation of Christian eschatological ideas in the funerary culture on the territory of Galicia and Volhynia lands, the formation and spread of Christian funeral rites as a component of ideology. The object of the study was the Christian burial monuments on the territory of the Galicia-Volyn lands, their topography, typology and accompanying inventory. The subject of the study is the process of formation of Christian burial culture, its ideological and practical components. The methodological basis of the work is the general scientific principles of systematicity, objectivity and historicism in combination with a problem-analytical approach, as well as the use of methodological techniques basic to the study of archaeological monuments: stratigraphic, comparative typological, chronological, cartographic, statistical, anthropological, dendrological, synthesis-retrospective, as well as methods of 3D fixation and graphic reconstruction.
